Guess his defense had legs, after all.
Oh yes I did.
Disgraced South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius has been found not guilty of the Valentine’s Day, 2013, murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The judge presiding over the case still has to rule on the other charges pending against the athlete, though, like culpable homicide (i.e., involuntary manslaughter?), but it looks like the worse – for him – is over. Seems the judge bought into the defense’s proposed timeline of the events, which found its backbone in a lack of premeditation.
Such a good thing I am not a betting man. I’d be out some....

Update: Pistorius has been found guilty of culpable homicide (which is, indeed, manslaughter), and of a firearms charge, and faces up to 15 years in the big house.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 13.
