Sorry, Hiddle-hunk, but it’s gonna be Jack Huston.
Yeah, that’s the news I came home from Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, to learn: That the Hollywood royal – against whom I have absolutely nothing – is the one who will pull a Charlton Heston to star in the forthcoming Timur Bekmambetov-helmed-directed remake of Ben-Hur.
Now, you may know Huston from his turns in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (he played Royce King), or from HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, or from the recent Kill Your Darlings and/or American Hustle. So you get it...the guy can act and hold his own.
So maybe a new big-time star is born?
Anyway, Morgan Freeman also has jumped on board the new Ben-Hur, and will continue his fine tradition of mentoring movie people, as Ildarin, the teacher who turns the slave Ben-Hur into a chariot-racing champ.
You can see this new take on the Tinseltown classic of yore when it arrives in theaters in February 2016.
