Last week would have marked the late Amy Winehouse’s 31st birthday.
Alas, the singer-songwriter joined the 27 Club in 2011, which is why her parents decided to honor their daughter with a statue celebrating her too-short life and talent, a monument they unveiled yesterday in London.
“It’s a day of incredibly mixed emotions,” Winehouse’s father, Mitch (pictured here with Mrs. Winehouse), said. “[The Scott Eaton-sculpted work] reinforces the fact that physically she’s gone, but spiritually she’ll never leave us.”
Put your lighters up, kids.
