Tom Hanks is ready to step into one heckuva pair of iconic shoes.Disney, the studio, and the actor are deep in conversation about him playing Walt Disney, the man, in Saving Mr. Banks, a new movie about the 14-year-old saga of how Mickey Mouse’s father persuaded the Australian author P.L. Travers to sell him the rights to make a film out of her Mary Poppins property.
Emma Thompson is in talks to portray the scribe, who reportedly was fiercely protective of her character and disliked the animated sequences in the final product starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.
