Oh, Oscar – Good Ol’ Predictable Oscar

Awards season is over – that is, of course, for now – with
The King’s Speech taking home Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Tom Hooper), and Best Original Screenplay (David Seidler) last night.

The film’s star, Colin Firth, won Best Actor, while
Black Swan’s Natalie Portman won Best Actress (the industry darling also nabbed an Independent Spirit Award for her buzzy role on Saturday, btw).

The Fighter’s Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were recognized for their supporting turns.

Now, as for my Oscar highlight…. Nope, it really, seriously wasn’t seeing the kinda overrated James Franco and the beyond-lovely Anne Hathaway hosting the evening (although she acquitted herself way more nicely than he), or the
pretty dresses some of the ladies wore, but my girl G.P. singing a little bit of “Coming Home” from Country Strong. Because she can do no wrong – and that’s that.
