Michelle Pfeiffer news is my favorite kind of news.

The actress, who’s working on parts in the sure-to-be-a-hit New Year’s Eve and the buzzy indie Welcome to People, is closing in on a role in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.

Pfeiffer would join a cast led by Johnny Depp that includes Eva Green, playing Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the matriarch of the Collins family (Depp will portray the vampire Barnabas Collins).

Burton’s real-life partner, Helena Bonham Carter, is also being eyed for a role in the project.
