This Welcome to People movie that Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, and Olivia Wilde are making just shot to the top of my list.None other than the seen-too-little-this-days Michelle Pfeiffer will be playing Pine’s widowed mother!
The plot of the project revolves around an estranged son who returns home for his father’s funeral and must sort through his dad’s secret affairs. Banks will play Pine’s alcoholic half-sister, while Wilde will portray his girlfriend.
Welcome to People was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (vets of the J.J. Abramsverse, including the Star Trek reboot and TV’s Fringe) and Jody Lambert. Kurtzman is making his feature directorial debut with this one.
The movie will go into production next week in Los Angeles for a 2012 release.
Up next for Pfeiffer is the ensemble-cast comedy New Year’s Eve.
