The plot of the multi-hyphenate’s Lincoln assassination drama is revolves around the aftermath of the 16th president’s death, and follows the trial of Mary Surratt (Wright), the mother of one of John Wilkes Booth’s co-conspirators. James McAvoy plays her initially reluctant lawyer.

The Conspirator, which also features Kevin Kline, erstwhile Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel, Justin Long, and Evan Rachel Wood, is due out in theaters on April 15.
