Out Fox

Oh?

Transformers 3 has lost – or let go, depending on who people ask – its female lead, Megan Fox.

Reportedly, the actress’ option was not renewed, but Fox’s camp claims, “It was her decision not to return” to the franchise.

Supposedly, the powers that be are moving the story in a different direction: Shia LaBeouf’s character is getting a new love interest. Although people are already saying this is Michael Bay getting even (the two had somewhat public war of words for a while there).

Maybe the universe is course-correcting: I have always thought Fox lucked out getting her career-making role once Lindsay Lohan lost her way in Hollywood.

We’ll see how Fox fares post-Transformers as soon as next month. Up next is Jonah Hex opening on June 18. Although we all know how she’s been doing: last fall’s Jennifer’s Body was a flop.

Update: Here come the vultures.

Heidi Montag is publicly campaigning for a role in the threequel, tweeting, “Michael Bay, I love your work! I know what a[n] artistic brilliant genius you are! Cast me in the next Transformers.”

Ew, Heidi.
