Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, originally scheduled to open on Nov. 21, will now cast its spell on audiences on July 17, 2009.
According to Alan Horn, president and chief operating officer of Warner Bros., the move was a strategic one – there was an open weekend in Hollywood’s busy summer season – and not due to any production problems.
“The picture is completely, absolutely, 100 percent on schedule, on time,” Horn said. “There were no delays. I’ve seen [it]. It is fabulous. We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November.”
And so anticipation builds. Can you wait for the magic?
