Much Ado About Nothing

Liz Rosenberg, a.k.a. Madonna’s publicist, finally addressed today talk of a split between the Queen of Pop and her director-husband, Guy Ritchie.

“Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family ([and] not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage, which does not need saving),” Rosenberg told People exclusively.

“There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce.”

The PR maven also denied a published report of a relationship between M and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez – I hadn’t heard that one – and joked, “By the way, rumors of Madonna and Lil Wayne are quite exaggerated, as well.”

So there you have it, from Camp Madonna to all: They’re fine, so let them will be.

Update:
In other M news, rehearsals for the “Sticky & Sweet Tour” are moving along full throttle.

Evidently, Madonna wasn’t happy with the way “Spanish Lesson” was turning up, so she’s shelved it for now. (Boo!)

The singer and her band are testing a cover of Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” to replace “Spanish Lesson” in one of the show’s sections. (M included a song titled “Ring My Bell” in a special edition of Hard Candy.)
