Amy Poehler’s 9-to-5 Potential

Heard around the water cooler: One of Saturday Night Live’s MVPs, Amy Poehler, is said to be in talks to star in the spin-off of NBC’s The Office, currently slated for a midseason premiere.

Mmm…Poehler, sitting at a desk…being funny.

Hey, it’s work for her as an anchor of SNL’s “Weekend Update” news desk. Imagine what she could do with the layers of boredom found at an office desk.

She totally has the résumé for the job.

Update: As it turns out, The Office spin-off may be DOA.

An insider close to it says that while the project isn’t officially dead, it’s “definitely not alive at this point.”

Office executive producer Greg Daniels is said to be creating an entirely different show (possibly a workplace comedy) built around Poehler.
