From Indies to the Marvelverse

Elizabeth Olsen’s oh-so-interesting two-year-young career is about to get real high(er) profile.

The indie-world staple – Mary Kate and Ashley’s sister broke out playing a cult survivor in 2011’s Martha Marcy May Marlene, starred in the little-seen Liberal Arts, and appears in this fall’s Kill Your Darlings and Thérèse – recently decided to venture into blockbuster by signing on to appear in in the 2014 reboot of Godzilla.

And it seems she’s quite liked it out in Big Movieville.

Indeed, the actress is circling The Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which she would play Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, daughter of Magneto and twin sister of Quicksilver (who will be portrayed by her Godzilla co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

Olsen would stick out not only for her ability to reshape reality and alter probability but because, next to Scarlett Johansson, she would be on the very small female side of the franchise’s male-dominated cast.

Guess we shall see if she suits up, but in the meantime, up next for the girl is the upcoming Spike Lee remake of Oldboy.
