The Charges Will Stand

Last winter, South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius went from sexy to shocking on a proverbial dime.

There the double-amputee stood, accused of the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentines Day, and there he was today on a Pretoria court, indicted on premeditated murder and illegal possession of ammunition for an incident he maintains was an accident.

The indictment came on what would have been Steenkamp’s 30th birthday.

Pistorius’ trial will kick off next March 3 (South Africa doesn’t do trials by jury, btw – they roll what judge), and the athlete is facing a minimum 25 years in the slammer if convicted.
