The Chinese superstar – who’s about to be seen in Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster – would appear in the follow-up that Yuen Wo Ping will start helming next spring in flashbacks that will explain what ever happened to her character, Jen, after she took her fateful leap into the clouds at the end of the Oscar-winning 2000 original.
Michelle Yeoh is already on board the project, reprising her role as Yu Shu Lien, while Donnie Yen has been cast as Silent Wolf.
