Please, tell me this doesn’t mean HBO’s Vice Principals is getting a failing grade.
Walton Goggins has lined up a new gig: The lead on another dark comedy, one titled Keeping It Real and set up at Showtime.
Charles Randolph, one of The Big Short’s Academy Award-winning co-writers, created the show, which fellow Oscar winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants) are set to helm.
Keeping It Real will revolve around a full-of-himself, yet well-meaning movie star who travels to the globe’s geopolitical hot spots trying but failing to mediate peaceful compromise among warring interests. Wherever he goes, though, chaos – much to his chagrin – follows.
Sidebar: It seems Goggins was signed on to be a Vice Principal only for two seasons, and his commitment to that show reportedly already has been fulfilled, so there ya go.
The actor will next be seen on the History Channel’s Navy SEALs drama Six, and in The Three Christs of Ypsilanti opposite Richard Gere and Julianna Margulies.
