Star Wars: Episode VIII is officially in production, kids!
Rian Johnson (Looper) is taking over directing duties from J.J. Abrams (who is still on board the project as an executive producer), and he is going to pick up right where we left off, from the looks of it:
Newcomers joining Daisy Ridley & Co. – including Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, and her fellow newbies John Boyega and Oscar Isaac – in the December 2017 film include Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro, Golden Globe winner Laura Dern, and fresh face Kelly Marie Tran, a veteran of the Upright Citizens Brigade.
