Laura Benanti – who is currently having an arc on TV’s Nashville – already has been cast on the upcoming CBS show, as Alura Zor-El, birth mother to Kara Zor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian cousin.
And now comes word that Calista Flockhart will be playing Cat Grant, Kara’s boss, a self-made media magnate.

Update: Chyler Leigh (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy) also has been tapped for a role on the show – that of Kara’s doctor-foster sister.
