Jon Stewart announced yesterday that he will be leaving his Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning Daily Show some time later this year, citing this certain restlessness he has been feeling about his job, which he has held for 17 years, as part of the reason for abdicating his post as the king of Comedy Central.
Stewart did walk away from the show for a bit to make last year’s Rosewater, you will remember....
In any case, the guy went to great lengths to reassure his audience that his exit is, “not right away. We’re still working out details.”
