He boldly went where no one had gone before in life, and, now, Leonard Nimoy’s venturing into the great beyond.
Yes, the man who was Mr. Spock has died. He was 83, and, according to his wife Susan, the actor died from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease attributed to years of smoking.
Nimoy, of course, is best known for the Volcanic role her played the Star Trek franchise, which he most recently reprised in 2013, in Star Trek Into Darkness. Zachary Quinto, who took over the part in the J.J. Abrams-led reboot of the franchise, expressed his sorrow over the actor’s passing on Instagram, saying, “my heart is broken. i will miss you everyday. may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
A four-time Emmy nominee and an obvious cult fave, Nimoy also most recently took part on TV’s Fringe.
