Django Found?

Quentin Tarantino is hunting for Jamie Foxx.

The Inglourious Basterds helmer is directing Django Unchained as his next feature, and he wants the Oscar-winning multi-hyphenate to play his title character, a freed Southern slave attempting to recover his wife from a nasty plantation owner (Will Smith reportedly passed on the part).

Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks for the latter part, while Christoph Waltz, whom QT led all the way to the Academy Awards with Inglourious Basterds, is expected to play a German bounty hunter who teams up with Django in the film, which is described as a violent, Mississippi-set spaghetti western.

Django Unchained is scheduled to go into production in November, for a Christmas Day, 2012, release.
