She’s Just Gonna Be Miley...at the VMAs, Y’all!

And in instantly polarizing news, Miley Cyrus is going to host the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

For realsies.

La Cyrus confirmed as much via Instagram earlier today, jokingly alluding to her 2013 performance with Robin Thicke as the reason why she will be taking on that task and all the extra work (and criticism) that comes with it. Evidently, MTV “won’t let” her take to the stage again, wink, wink.

The VMAs are set for Aug. 30 this year – so mark ’em calendars!

Update: And the nominees are...young.

MTV announced on July 21 that, duh, Taylor Swift is the one to beat this year, since she received a combined nine nods for her “Blank Space” and Bad Blood” clips.

Madonna, meanwhile, got zero nominations, surprising given how well-liked her J.A.C.K.-directed “Living for Love” affair was and how the video for Bitch I’m Madonna” was able to generate some buzz – but not all that puzzling given the fact that just about every nominee is under 40.
