Meg Ryan Wants Back In

But People magazine just had a cover story on how she left Hollywood behind to lead a much quieter life!

Guess not.

Meg Ryan is back! Or, OK...she wants to be.

The most sorely missed American Sweetheart of yore has signed on to star on a new untitled Marc (Miss Congeniality) Lawrence-written comedy for NBC, about a sunny, devoted, and totally non-confrontational single mother who decides to return to New York – shades of art imitating life (the actress did leave L.A. for the Big Apple in recent years) – to get back to work in the publishing world she left behind.

Back in the game, the woman ends up working for her now-neurotic 30-year-old former intern.

Hilarity ensues

As well as a post-affair (with Russell Crowe, in the early aughts), post-tragic-face-work comeback?

We shall see.
