Halle Berry’s Headed (Back) to TV

Twenty-five years after she starred on TV’s short-lived Living Dolls, Halle Berry is going to headline Extant, a new Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi drama that will air on CBS next year.

The Emmy- and Oscar-winning actress – and second-time mommy-to-be (I will bet you anything that had something to do with this career choice) – will play an astronaut who comes back home from a year-long solo mission out in space and struggles to reconnect with her family and their everyday life. Eventually, her experiences lead to events that end up changing...the course of human history.

Holy!

Extant’s first 13-episode season will air next summer.

On a related note, I guess networks are finally giving into shorter orders for their shows à la cable, huh. It’s hard out here for a pimp – and for the tube to keep its viewers’ interest and immediate attention.
