What the Directors Liked Best from 2014

Golden Globe winner Richard Linklater (pictured here with the boy himself, Ellar Coltrane) is in it to win it.

The Directors Guild of America announced today that Linklater will be competing with Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Clint Eastwood (American Sniper), Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman), and Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) in the race for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2014.

Most of these films are also up for the Producers Guild Award and the Writers Guild Award.

The DGA Awards will be presented on Feb. 7.
