The Poet

Life after Sex (and the City) is turning poetic for Cynthia Nixon.

The actress, fresh off a Tony-nominated turn on Broadway's Wit, is eyeing a starring role as Emily Dickinson in A Quiet Passion, a biopic about the solitary poet whose work was almost exclusively published posthumously.

The project was written by House of Mirth director Terence Davies, who would also helm, of course. Davies says he wrote the screenplay with Nixon in mind, btw.

Nixon is such a fine actress this could be the part that finally makes her EGOT. I say do it and knock it outta the park, girl.
