Jennifer Aniston’s gon’ shine next week.

The actress is set to receive her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – just in time for the Feb. 24 opening of her new comedy Wanderlust.

Bet this is one gonna be one of the funnest unveiling ceremonies ever, since Jen – yeah, like with Sandy Bullock, I’m just going to pretend I can call her that (Team Aniston!) – has so many friends.

O Could Be Acting Agaaaiiinnn

Now that she’s left daytime TV, Oprah Winfrey could start popping on movie screens again, on a more regular basis, beginning with a Lee Daniels movie.

The Precious director has confirmed O is in talks to co-star in The Butler, the story of a gentleman who worked at the White House under eight presidents from 1952 to 1986. Winfrey would play the man’s wife.

The project, based on the 2008 Washington Post story “A Butler Well Served By This Election,” has drawn the interest of John Cusack, who’s keen to play Richard Nixon, while Liam Neeson is circling the role of Lyndon B. Johnson.

Ali Larter’s next superpower? A knack for undercover work.

The former Heroes star has lined up her first, post-motherhood TV gig: the full-of-potential Fox pilot The Asset.

Larter will play a globe-trotting photojournalist who actually works for the CIA as a human intel specialist in the character-driven drama set at the agency’s New York City station.

There’s a smooth criminal roaming the streets of Bangkok, and his name is Ryan Gosling.

The actor’s been in Thailand for the past few week working on a new movie titled Only God Forgives, which I understand is the reason he took up mixed martial arts...and why he looks extra-yummy these days.

Katie Cassidy is headed back to The CW to play the Green Arrow’s lady.

The Melrose Place-reboot MVP-turned-Gossip Girl villainess will co-star opposite Stephen Amell on the network’s based-on-the-DC Comics-property Arrow.

Cassidy will portray Dinah Laurel Lance, a lawyer by day, second-in-line to the Black Canary superhero mantel the rest of the time (not to mention former gf to Amell’s Oliver Queen).

Yet Another Sherlock

Make some room, Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch: Jonny Lee Miller is coming back to the tube as Sherlock Holmes.

The erstwhile Eli Stone will play the sleuth for a CBS pilot titled Elementary.

Miller will play a modern-day version of the iconic detective in the reboot, which will be set in Manhattan.

Future Girl on TV

Mandy Moore is gunning for small-screen stardom.

As expected, M2 could be coming to a TV near you this fall now that ABC has ordered a half-hour single-camera comedy pilot starring the Saved! scene-stealer.

My Mandy has given and given without taking for so long I think it is high time America really fell in love with her, so I am thrilled for the girl.

An Animal

James Wolk is sooo on my radar.

The star of TV’s short-lived Lone Star-cum-Happy Endings guest will next turn up in a new show from Greg (Brothers & Sisters) Berlanti called Political Animals.

Wolk will play the son of a (fictional) former first lady who, now as a divorced secretary of state, finds herself in the middle of a crisis.

The show is slated to have a freshman, six-episode run on the USA Network this summer.

Which means...Wolk, Man of Summer (bring on the shirtless magazine spreads!).

Order Girl

Remember that third Snow White movie that was reportedly in the development?

I know, I know...it’s not like you’re me – why should you.

Well, it was something that was in the works, with Natalie Portman linked to the project, but now that Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman are coming out this year, Disney has reconsidered the fairest-of-them-all angle of its Order of the Seven property and dropped the fairy-tale angle altogether so the movie can stand on its own as different.

To further drive the point across, the studio is eyeing Oscar-nominated British actress Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) to star in the 19th century-China-set story of a young English expat who helps an outlaw band of warriors battle an evil empress.

After seeing Ronan kick ass in Hanna I can easily say this would be some kind of fierceness.

He Is Happy and Out...and Taken


Matt Bomer is officially out of the closet.

Rumors both naughty and nice had surrounded the actor for years, and over the weekend, the actor made it official: He is, very much indeed, gay (y’ know, it was one of those unspoken truths in the industry).

Bomer took the opportunity to make the news official when he received the New Generation Arts and Activism Award at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards on Saturday.

And to – and I am so joking here – dash the hopes of every dude out there by unmistakably stating he’s got a family and is quite happy, thankssomuch.

She Is a Sister
It’s a good thing Becki Newton had or is having a good time working on TV’s How I Met Your Mother and ingratiating to the cast and crew since the show’s powers that be want her to headline a new potential comedy.

The project, a single-camera proposition, is a.k.a. The Goodwin Games. The erstwhile Amanda from Ugly Betty will play one of three siblings who must leave estrangements aside in order to inherit their father’s fortune.

This make me :) since Newton really is one of my favorites.

He...Is...Themistocles

And we have us a new Greek warrior.

While Joel Edgerton had been rumored to be in the running to play Themistocles, the famed archon and general who led the Greeks to victory against invading Persians in 480 BCE, in the 300 follow-up, Battle for Artemisia, the role has gone to Sullivan Stapleton.

I know what some of you are thinking: Who?

Well, if you’ve been watching Cinemax’s Strike Back then you know who this guy is (and, really, you should’ve – it’s some intense, good stuff).

Eva Green will co-star alongside Stapleton, as the all-important Artemisia.

R.I.P. Whitney

Her voice gave me the chills every time I heard her version of “I Will Always Love You,” but they were never like the ones I just felt upon reading the tweets about her passing: Whitney Houston has died.

She was 48.

While her passing has been confirmed, the cause and location of her death were unknown as the news broke.

It’s such a sad ending for one of pop’s greatest. At her best, Houston was a best-selling artist with a golden voice (a multi-hyphenate who also did movies like The Bodyguard and produced TV shows and whatnot), but at her worst, she was one of the industry’s poster children for how bad drugs can be for ya.

Crack, indeed, was whack to her, and although I am not suggesting drugs had anything to do with her death, it is unquestionable they never treated her kind.

So for now, let’s remember the talent that made us love her so, and hope she has found peace:

Buffy Pulls a Murphy Brown

Buffy Summers has a had a lot to deal with in her life.

Let’s see...there was the hellish high school experience, the whole business of dying (for the first time), the boyfriend who changed on her after they did the deed, the rogue slayer with boundary issues, the college experience that was by no means easier than school, the god with bitch issues, that whole thing with the dying a second time, the drama with her BFF going all dark, and the all-out war against the original evil.

And that was just when we used to see her on TV.

As Joss Whedon continued telling her story in comic form, the Buffster experimented with girls and, ultimately, destroyed the seed of all magic in the world.

Now, as she carries through Season 9 of her story, Buffy’s facing her greatest challenge yet: the possibility of becoming a mother.

And now, a Spoiler Alert!

I say she faces the possibility of motherhood because, in the end, the slayer decides there is no way she can have a baby.

I know, right?

Note to self, yet again: I have got to get my hands on this comic for once and for all.

We Really Are Just Living In It, Huh

There she goes again: Madonna’s gonna dance and sing, get up and do her thing around the world again, for a whopping 90 times at least, and she kindly suggests you should have started saving your pennies so you can see her do it.

Just bow and do it.

Like I was saying, never one to rest on her laurels, the Queen of Pop has followed her stellar performance at the Super Bowl (hey, everyone is saying as much; just GTS) with (eagerly anticipated – don’t play the stupid game...you know you love her) news that she will tour the world beginning on May 29 in Tel Aviv.

She will then hit Europe for a series of shows, before coming to America (her U.S. dates have yet to be announced). She will wrap up North America with a show in Miami – so you know where I will be at some point this fall.

This will be M’s first tour in the three years that have passed since the last show of her super-successful “Sticky & Sweet Tour.”
