Pretty sure it was earlier this week that this Brant Daugherty fella scorched up the dance floor with a sexy samba on Dancing with the Stars, right. I think I then tweeted my amazement at not having been acquainted with his shirtless situation prior to this – especially ’cause, evidently, the guy is an actor who has appeared on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, which I have been known to watch.

Anyway, I marveled at it, and I was rewarded with more it. Behold Daugherty working out in West Hollywood a few days ago.

So I’ve finally started watching The Fall on Netflix, right – and all I can ask myself is who is that?

No, not Gillian Anderson, who is fierce as Stella Gibson, a detective superintendent investigating a series of murders in Northern Ireland.

And no, not Jamie Dornan (TV’s Once Upon a Time), who plays Paul Spector, the family man by day, murderer with a penchant for Belfast brunettes by night.

I mean Ben Peel.

That is one tall glass of abstastic water.

Peel plays a detective sergeant working a difference case with whom Stella forges a sexy NSA connection, from what I have seen one episode and a quarter into The Fall’s five-episode first season.

Peel me off a piece of that. Hot dayum.

Wowza, Ashlee Simpson – you lookin’ good.

There the singer was, having a fashion-plate moment in black, backless alice + olivia, at the 2013 American Ballet Theatre Opening Night Spring Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City earlier this week, oozing the healthy with a couple more pounds on her (Ash had gotten a little too skinny for my taste) and the overall radiant.

I wish I could interview her again.

I did once, back when her Bittersweet World record came out...so this is probably like, five years ago at least.

Too bad her music these days is pretty DOA.

So I saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey earlier tonight.

My goodness, were those some awesome micro-naps I took in between fight scenes (guess I am not a fanboy)....

I mean, director Peter Jackson has delivered another visual knock-out trip to Middle-earth and beyond, but c’mon, dude – you gotta keep it movin’, movin’. When the most mesmerizing part of a movie is the end because it features an accomplished bit of acting by way of CGI (Andy Serkis and his Gollum rock!), well....

At least I got to meet Richard Armitage. The Brit plays Thorin Oakenshield, and even through all those prosthetics he had to wear I could tell the guy was the real, handsome thing.

I enjoyed him.

Next month, Jeremy Irvine will become a star thanks to Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.

So get used to seeing the young Brit on and off the screen.

In fact, the up-and-comer has been busy keeping busy after working with S2, playing Pip in Mike Newell’s upcoming adaptation of Great Expectations, opposite Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter, and completing work in Now Is Good, which co-stars Dakota Fanning, Paddy Considine, and Olivia Williams (The Ghost Writer).

Now Irvine has booked another high-profile project, The Railway Man, a in which he will play a young Colin Firth.

The drama is based on a memoir by Eric Lomax and follows the British officer’s account of his forced labor on Japan’s Death Railway during World War II, the woman he loved, and the torture he endured by the Japanese for being (presumed) a spy.
