As every Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan knows, Buffy Summers’ great adventures have translated from life as a cult classic on TV to life as a cult classic as a comic – the Joss Whedon-overseen Season 8 is currently underway.Yesterday, issue No. 12 came out – and what do you know, so did Buffy. A little.
You read that right: In the new issue, Buffy sleeps with a fellow slayer named Satsu.
The story line, Whedon says, “evolved naturally.”
And lest you think Whedon doesn’t know what he’s doing – has he ever disappointed? – he is quite clear his team knows where this is headed.
“We’re not going to make her gay, nor are we going to take the next 50 issues explaining that she’s not. She’s young and experimenting, and did I mention open-minded?”
Note to self: I have got to get my hands on this comic for once and for all.
