For years, my dear Gyllen-yum has been eyeing a prospective movie adaptation of Damn Yankees, but since that one’s still in development (right?), Jakey-bear has turned his attention to the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods.
Indeed, Gyllenhaal is thisclose to nabbing the part of Rapunzel’s Prince in the Rob (Chicago) Marshall-directed production that already has Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp on board.
It could very well that, in the end, Gyllen-yum will get the latter part, since I understand it is the showier part.
And how’s this for a cherry on top of some sweet-ass news? Emily Blunt, Streep’s Devil Wears Prada co-star, is also being courted for a part.
