And for his follow-up to the riotous turn as The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio will star as The Revenant.

Indeed, the so-far-always-a-nominee has chosen the Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film, an adaptation of the Michael Punke revenge novel, as his next project.

Production is set to begin this fall for a release in fall 2015 – just in time to give that whole trying-to-win-an-Oscar thing another go.

DiCaprio will play a fur trapper from the 19th century who gets mauled by a grizzly bear – hate it when that happens – and left for dead by some associates who also, btw, rob him of all his s---. Obviously, he lives, and, pissed as all get-out, he embarks on quest for payback on all that wronged him.

So get ready for lots of this face.
