Remembering and Honoring Andy Whitfield
Last fall, cancer pulled a bitch move and took Andy Whitfield, the star of Starz’s Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
The guy was pretty much on top on the world when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He took himself out of the game, got better before he got sick again, eventually leaving the series – and the world – for good.
He left something behind, though.
Whitfield and his family joined forces with documentary filmmakers to work on Be Here Now, a film that chronicles his battle against the disease. However, the doc is not finished, and the powers that be need just a little more money to complete the project and fulfill the actor’s final wish: to share his story and his strength with the world.
Click here if you are willing to take a stand and honor Whitfield or anyone else you have lost to cancer.
