Tom Cruise is determined to earn back his place as a beloved movie star – just look at the variety of projects he has coming out and lined up.

The actor has signed on to star in director Doug Liman’s All You Need Is Kill, a sci-fi thriller about a soldier who relives the same day over and over in order to become better and win a war against aliens.

Adapted from a graphic novel, the project is set to go into production next fall.
