George Clooney Takes on Prop 8

That classic Chanel suit of Sexiest Men Alive, George Clooney, is taking a page outta Cheyenne Jackson’s book.

Clooney will star in a West Coast production of 8, Dustin Lance Black’s play about the Prop 8 trial. The benefit one-night-only affair is set for March 3 in Los Angeles.

“It is astonishing that gay and lesbian Americans are still treated as second-class citizens,” the actor said in a statement about his involvement. “I am confident that, very soon, the laws of this nation will reflect the basic truth that gay and lesbian people – like all human beings – are born equal in dignity and rights.”
