European Choice

And coming in from behind this awards season
– ish (the film hasnt quite built on its Cannes buzz the way some folks might have thought it would) – is Lars von Trier’s Melancholia.

The Danish director’s end-of-the-world opus starring Kirsten Dunst took the top prize at the 2001 European Film Awards.

Colin Firth won another Best Actor trophy for his work on The King’s Speech, while Tilda Swinton walked away the Best Actress for We Need to Talk About Kevin.
