Chin Up, Mes Amis

Paris, je t’aime.

Terrible news out of the French capital tonight. Awful, really.

France is on high alert and tightening its borders after a series of coordinated attacks rocked the City of Lights earlier today. Suicide bombers and shooters suspected to be radical fanatics created chaos at a handful of locations, including near the Stade de France and at Le Petit Cambodge and Bataclan nightclub in Paris.

More than 120 people are dead.

U2 has called off the concert they were going to perform tomorrow at the AccorHotels Arena (HBO was to broadcast it live). The show will go on, however, when the time feels more appropriate.

Update 2: The Foo Fighters also have made some changes to their performing schedule: The band has 86d their European tour, actually. Given the circumstances, they said, they felt like this was the best course of action.

The Food Fighters were meant to perform in Paris on Nov. 16.

Meanwhile, Bono and his bandmates paid their respects to the lost at the Bataclan on the evening of Nov. 14.

Update 4: And this is how SNL acknowledged the tragedy.

Update 5: Do not forget about Beirut.

Update 6: President François Hollande announced on Nov. 16 that France will join forces with the United States and Russia to take on the Islamic State moving forward.

The death toll from the attacks on Paris is now 132. The attacks reportedly were planned in Syria and organized in Belgium.

Update 7: Prince also has postponed the rest of his tour through Europe until further notice.
