Originally scheduled for Dec. 18, a.k.a. the day the Force will awaken, the film will now open on Nov. 20, going up against a slightly less huge blockbuster, The Hungers Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
Carol, in case you do not know, is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s The Price of Salt, the chronicle of the blossoming relationship between an unhappy wife (Blanchett) and a department store shopgirl dreaming of a more fulfilling life (Mara) she befriends in 1950s New York City.
