Bring On the Second Volume!

And henceforth, the sequel to last summer’s surprise mega-hit Guardians of the Galaxy (you know...Chris Pratt’s starmaker) shall be known as...Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Director James Gunn confirmed as much, so there you have it.

The title, fans will know, is a riff on a nostalgia-tinged plot point in the original blockbuster, as well as on the title of its well-received soundtrack.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due in theaters on May 5, 2017.
