Oy, I can already imagine the singer seating on a corner somewhere, furiously scribbling her next break-up hit....

I say that because word had the singer-songwriter playing the part in the adaptation of Les Misérables that director Tom Hooper is working on with a cast that includes Amanda Seyfried (is she confirmed?), Hugh Jackman, and Russell Crowe.

Samantha Barks, who owned the role on the West End a couple of years ago, has been cast instead. Check her out singing “On My Own.”
