We knew she was coming – we just didn’t know how she’d make her entrance.Last night, though, at the 88-minute mark of The CW’s 90210 two-hour premiere, Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty, pictured at right) walked into the Peach Pit and ordered a shake and French fries (extra crispy).
And thus, a 14-year wait to see her again ended, with Nat (Joe E. Tata) saying, to Brenda and Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), “Oh, it’s so good to see both of ya in this place again.”
Indeed, it is.
The new show, which is based on Darren Star’s 1990-2000-running fan fave, focuses, of course, on a new group of people, but it was the nostalgia of the Brenda-Kelly reunion that made me watch…which isn’t to say I won’t be tuning in again next week.
I’m so glad the fall TV season started early this year.
