The multi-hyphenate is partnering with Lee Daniels for a return to television via his new musical pilot for Fox.
The premise revolves around three young women (all already cast, too, btw) brought together to form a girl group with they’ll make it big, and the choices they have to make to get to the top.
The erstwhile Oscar-nominated Chicagoan will portray Carlotta, the owner of an Atlanta beauty salon, and of an amazing voice, who will mentor the girls as a mother figure.
