The Jesuit

Sorry, Leo – Martin Scorseses going with someone else for his next film.

Indeed, the man everyone in Hollywood knows and loves as Marty has called upon Liam Neeson to star in his long-gestating adaptation of Shûsaku Endô’s Silence.

The 1966 novel centers on a group of persecuted Jesuit missionaries in Japan in the 17th century.

It’s quite a change of pace for Neeson, who lately has been kicking ass in the Taken movies (Taken 3 is a go, btw, with Forest Whitaker joining in on the fun), and who next will be seen in this monthNon-Stop and in this summer’s Seth MacFarlane A Million Ways to Dies in the West.

I guess somebody misses the scent of awards bait….
