The Hiddle-hunk Does Gucci

Where have I been?

Tom Hiddleston is going to be doing some modelin’, for Gucci. Because Jared Leto cannot have all the fun.

Dude sure looks good in It Designer Alessandro Michele’s creations, huh (the campaign is all about men’s tailoring, btw).

Now. Can someone hook the Hiddle-hunk up with Speedo?

Pop Art Leto

Well. The Joker ain’t got nothing on this one.

Jared Leto is going to play Andy Warhol.

Ya read that right: The Factory is reopening (kinda sorta).

The Dallas Buyers Club Academy Award winner is going to produce and star in Warhol, a Terence (The Wolf of Wall Street) Winter-written biopic of the pop art artist. Winter reportedly will based the script in part on Victor Bockris’ Warhol: The Biography.

Leto is currently working on the Blade Runner sequel with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling.

Passing Through, Taking In the Sights

The girl on the train, Emily Blunt, has secrets; dark things that she knows, that she keeps to herself.

The Girl on the Train also has a bit of a challenging plot with lots of interconnected characters – so it’s a good thing that the first trailer for Tate Taylor’s upcoming adaptation of the hit Paula Hawkins novel was released this week.

Blunt headlines the film as Rachel, the story’s lonely and oh-so-unreliable narrator, who, for whatever reason, spies on her ex-husband’s (Justin Theroux) young nanny (Haley Bennett) right before she goes MIA.

From that starting point, a number of players come into the picture, knowing things and not. They are to be played by the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Leto Luke Evans, Édgar Ramirez, Allison Janney, and Lisa Kudrow, among others.

Twisty!

The Girl on the Train will arrive in theaters on Oct. 7.

Earning His Stripes

And for his next act, Jared Leto is going to stage a prison break.

The Oscar winner is all set to play The Outsider in a new action thriller by that title that will call for him to get our of a Japanese prison with the aid of his yakuza cellmate.

Well with friends like that, you know bf’s gonna have to pay a price, alright....

Rotten to the Core

And in other fresh-trailer news (sorry, Zac Efron, but you are so this morning)....

Check out the newest promo stuff for this summer’s star-studded bad guys-centric DC Comicsverse entry, Suicide Squad, directed by Fury’s David Ayer.

As you can very well see, we have us a new poster, and a new trailer that expands on the nature and vibe of each of the characters in the production. I likey.

Seems like Margot Robbie is poised to steal and run away with the blockbuster as Harley Quinn, like Joel Kinnaman appears to be one of the few quote-unquote good guys of the story, and like the powers that be want to keep us guessing about Jared Leto’s take on the Joker as long as they possibly can.

I’m cool with that.

Guilty Jared

Does this constitute an upgrade?

Former face of Hugo Boss Red Jared Leto has been tapped as the new face of Gucci’s Guilty fragrance.

Alessandro Michele, the fashion house’s hot new creative director, will shoot the campaign himself, in Venice, Italy.

Leto replaces Chris Evans (and Evan Rachel Wood) under this particular Gucci spotlight.

Hopping On Instead

Jared Leto has hopped off the train.

The Girl on the Train, that is.

The Academy Award-winning was set to join Emily Blunt and a whole bunch of people in Tate Taylor’s adaptation of the Paula Hawkins novel about lots of people connected somehow through Blunt’s lonely and oh-so-unreliable narrator, right.

Not anymore.

Luke Evans is stepping in to replace him, though. Leto had to move on due to a scheduling conflict, but fret not – we shall get a hottie up in that movie one way or another.

Btw, Chris Evans was also meant to be in the movie, but his schedule also could not be worked out, so the powers that be called on Justin Theroux, which, again, means more a different kind of hot, but hot nonetheless.

Train Man

Now that the women of The Girl on the Train have been found (Emily Blunt! Rebecca Ferguson! Haley Bennett!), it is high time the search moves to the men.

Enter Jared Leto.

The Academy Award winner is circling the project, the adaptation of the Paula Hawkins novel about a lonely and oh-so-unreliable narrator (Blunt) who becomes a tad too involved with the lives of a couple she spies from afar during her daily train ride. Not entirely certain which of the gals he would be paired with, although it does sound like it will be more than one....

Chris Evans is also being eyed for one of the male leads. Ditto on who he’ll be revolving around, so there ya go.

When the Bad Going Have to Get Good

It was a good Comic-Con this year, from the sounds of it.

The annual convention in San Diego got the fanpeople super-excited about stuff like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and next summer’s Suicide Squad, not to mention myriad TV shows and their new seasons or launches.

Suicide Squad, for sure, was a big deal. The powers that be weren’t planning on sharing the first-look trailer they presented at the Con right away, but, you know...the Internet.

So without further ado, here’s the first preview for the David Ayer-directed August 2016 blockbuster about a group of villains tryin’ to do some good. The movie stars Will Smith, Terminator Genisys’ Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Focus’ Margot Robbie, Paper Towns’ Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as the Killer Croc, and Jared Leto as the Joker.

Suicide Squad will open on Aug. 5, 2016.

Update: Oh, screw it.

Looks like fun, no?

It Will Be an Epic Superhero Showdown Alright

Bruce Wayne is pissed.

That would be the takeaway from the amazing new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that just premiered at Comic-Con.

As played by Ben Affleck, and as a the preview starts, Bruce Wayne is bearing witness to the collateral damage produced by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) clash-of-the-titans-style confrontation over Metropolis with Michael Shannon’s General Zod at the end of 2013’s Man of Steel.

Bruce Wayne is so mad that he decides to suit up as Batman again – I’m betting that the upcoming blockbuster will spend quite a bit of time cluing us into this particular incarnation’s background and motivation. He will protect the world from the mysterious alien man who has the power to end all of humanity if he so would choose it.

The almost-4-minute clip also gives us an exciting first look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in action and at Jesse Eisenberg as a bratty young Lex Luthor, and tips its hat to Jared Leto’s Joker, who will debut next summer in Suicide Squad.

Without further ado, check it:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is due out on March 26.

On Fleek Squad

There it is...the Suicide Squad.

Director David Ayer released the first official cast photo of his Suicide Squad in costume yesterday. The first-look pic features the Jai Courtney (second from left) as Captain Boomerang, model-cum-actress Cara Delevingne (Paper Towns) as the Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman (who came in after Tom Hardy dropped outta the project – click here for a why) Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as the villainous Killer Croc.

Adam Beach (first from left), Jay Hernandez (first from right), and Karen Fukuhara (front) will play Slipknot (OK – that is yet to be confirmed), El Diablo, and Katana, respectively.

Missing in action? Jared Leto, who is playing the Joker in the August 2016 release, and Scott Eastwood, who will portray Steve Trevor, a potential paramour for Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in a different movie.

Behold the New Joker

Check him out.

We finally have us an official look at Jared Leto in character as the Joker for the upcoming David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad.

Quite the look, huh.

The star-studded Suicide Squad – Will Smith! Margot Robbie! Viola Davis! – is due out in August of next year.

Photo: EW.com.

Update 1: Looks like Leto is going to look particularly lean and ripped in the movie....

Update 2: And like Ben Affleck may be making an appearance in Suicide Squad, if not as Batman then as Bruce Wayne, at the very least.

Not Into the Squad

Hit a snag much?

The Suicide Squad movie is having a bit of a tough time finding its new Rick Flag in the wake of Tom Hardy’s departure from the production.

Rumor had it the powers that be were looking at Jake Gyllenhaal to replace Hardy as the elite soldier-character, but the Gyllen-yum reportedly has said thanks, but no thanks.

Who shall it be, who shall it be?

We better find out soon because Suicide Squad – starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis – is meant to start shooting in April for an August 2016 release.

As Amanda Waller

We already know that just because an actor plays a DC Comics character on TV it don’t mean that he or she is going to play that character on the big screen. Which is why Grant Gustin will not be playing The Flash in the proposed 2018 movie based on the character (Ezra Miller is).

Now, we also know that several of the villains that already have appeared on The CW’s Arrow also already have been recast for the in-the-works Suicide Squad that Fury director David Ayer is prepping – which is why Will Smith will be portraying Deadshot, for instance.

And now, it is official: Viola Davis (TV’s How to Get Away with Murder) will play Amanda Waller, the-anti-hero-esque director of A.R.G.U.S., or Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans, the beyond-shadowy federal agency that essentially obligates supervillains to run high-risk ops for the government as the Suicide Squad.

The actress confirmed that she will be in Suicide Squad while promoting the upcoming Chris Hemsworth-led hacker thriller Blackhat, and that she is very much looking forward to “exploring her psychology.”

So now you know who will be bossing around Smith and Jared Leto (he is on board as the Joker) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) et al.

Too bad for Cynthia Addai-Robinson, huh.

Melt the Internet

Dear Jared Leto,

If ya wanna make the #hippacklife happen (as part of your merch endeavors), you might wanna refrain from distracting us with your #hottorsositch.

Just a thought.

And thanks!

The Squad Just Got Letod

The Suicide Squad cast is now firmly in place.

To be directed by Fury’s David Ayer, the sure-to-be-a-hit production – a key tentpole in the Marvelfication of the DC Comicsverse – will star Oscar winner Jared Leto as the Joker, while Will Smith (not Jai Courtney) will take on the role of Deadshot.

Courtney, however, will be part of the fun, as the Dirk Harkness incarnation of Captain Boomerang.

Tom Hardy will portray Rick Flag, while Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and model-cum-actress Cara Delevingne (Pan) will inject some much-needed estrogen to the action, as Harley Quinn and the Enchantress, respectively.

Suicide Squad – about a group of supervillains essentially obligated to run high-risk ops for the government – is due out on Aug. 5, 2016.

The Cumber-stud Will Get Strange!

Seems like Benedict Cumberbatch is thisclose to being all that Joaquin Phoenix, Jared Leto, and Patrick Dempsey couldn’t.

Yes! The Internet is saying, quite loudly, that the Cumber-stud will be Doctor Strange.

Squeal!

Indeed, it seems that while every other stud in the Hollywood stable (even, kinda-maybe, Vin Diesel) was kicking around town for a chance at the part, fan fave Cumberbatch was rising to the top for Marvel, as the two parties are in serious talks about the Imitation Game Oscar hopeful to play the selfish and superficial neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, who recovers from a near-fatal car crash to become the Sorcerer Supreme, a.k.a. the planet’s mystical defender (and the latest blockbuster star for the studio).

Approved! Hells yes, approved!

It’s #FeelingNuts Time!

Thank you, Hugh Jackman, for letting me us know about the latest in viral awareness campaigns.

And sorry, #IceBucketChallenge, but you are so last summer.

It is now going to be all about balls. Meaning it’s testicular cancer’s time to get its time in the spotlight, thanks to the Check One Two #FeelingNuts campaign, which, admittedly, has been going on for a bit (Jackman just accepted his challenge this morning, though).

Did Michael Fassbender get nominated yet? I know Jackman nominated Neil Patrick Harris already, but how ’bout Jared Leto? Or Benedict Cumberbatch? Idris Elba? Tom Hiddleston?

On the women’s front, I think Madonna is an obvious choice for a nomination. The cojones on the Queen of Pop are epic.

Joaquin Phoenix Might Get Strange

Well, well.

The DC Comics brain trust ended up not going with him to play Lex Luthor in the forthcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but that don’t mean that Joaquin Phoenix has to go without getting his superhero on.

Marvel reportedly is considering him for the starring role in Doctor Strange.

Someone has to play the alter ego of one Stephen Strange, especially since Benedict Cumberbatch is too busy for the job, and not much excitement came of the possibility of Jared Leto taking the part.

Aww, Patrick Dempsey.... Shoulda lobbied harder for it.

Single, Studly, and Available

Duh.

Of course People magazine would pick Joe Manganiello as the hottest of Hottest Hollywood Bachelors.

I mean, right?

But if there is one person to credit – or blame, depending on your POV – for the honor going the way of the Manga-beast that would be Amal Alamuddin. You know...George Clooney’s attorney-fiancé.

(That smarty-pants bitch ruined everything!)

Now, as to why the True Blood star and director of La Bare is still on the market (the guy reportedly split with his model-gf this past spring), he claims it probably is because he’s just too hot to handle.

I know you are, dude.

“I am part Sicilian,” Manganiello told People for its special issue, which also feature Jared Leto, out singer-songwriter Sam Smith, Usher, Ricky Martin, and, Prince Harry (natch). “I am passionate. I am a hot-blooded person. If you don’t like spicy, then maybe I’m not for you.”

Now you know, ladies and gents that think you got a shot.
