I don’t know. Can I? (Ha!)
Anyway...Kellan Lutz is pretty to look at, right? But like, he is no thespian.
That’s OK to say, yeah?
I mean, no one can say dude has really stretched his acting muscle anywhere near as much as he has all the other muscles of his hella-fine body. Sorry, but that Twilight Saga and The Legend of Hercules sure were not like, these Meryl-caliber challenges of the craft, worthy of anything more than a Teen Choice Award here and there.
Now, though, Lutz is getting ready to play a real-life ham, and that may add another dimension to his persona.
If he does a good job.
The actor is going to portray William Shatner in Experimenter, the story of Stanley Milgram, the famed social psychologist who, in 1961, designed these controversial obedience experiments in which people thought they were delivering electric shocks to nice-enough strangers strapped to chairs in different rooms.
No, Shatner was not part of the experiments. But he did play Milgram in a 1970s TV movie about the guy, which probably means that that is a plot point of Experimenter, ergo Lutz coming on board.
Btw, Taryn Manning (Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black) and Anton Yelchin also have joined the indie’s cast led, which is led by Peter Saragaard and Winona Ryder.
