See, the Germans beat Argentina, 1-0 in overtime, during the final game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup at the historic Estádio Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, capturing their fourth World Cup title.
Of course, as you can surmise, the Argentineans did not go home empty-handed. They won silver, plus bragging rights for Lionel Messi, who was (controversially, from what I gather) named the best player of the tournament.
The Netherlands, as you probably know, beat the Brazilians yesterday to finish third for the entire meet.
Now. How how ’bout the lot of yous get back to normal and go back to calling it “soccer” and thinking it is all oh-so-boring until 2018.
