Duff Up the Upper East Side

Hilary Duff has signed on for a multi-episode arc on Gossip Girl this fall.

Duff will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience – because, you know, movie stars who go to NYU have it sooo normal (here’s to looking at you, Olsen twins!) and ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr).

The actress, whose NBC pilot, Barely Legal, was no go, is slated to first appear on the third season’s fourth episode of The CW’s hit on Oct. 5.
