Son of Cop

Another week, another bit o Jake Gyllenhaal news.

Fine by me!

Jakey-Bear is going to reunite with Denis Villeneuve, who directed him in Enemy and Prisoners, to work on an adaptation of The Son, the popular crime novel by Jo Nesbo.

The story will center on a once-promising 15-year-old wrestler whose career goes off the rails after the suicide of his cop-father. Like, the guy ends up in prison, hooked on heroin.

There, though, our protagonist learns some long-hidden truths about his father’s death, so he escapes and gets to huntin’ those responsible for his wrongful sentence.

Update: Well look who is trying for videogame-adaptation success again.

The Gyllen-yum – who gave it a try six years ago with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, is going to produce and star in the Ubisoft title Tom Clancys The Division, a story set in a dystopian New York City in which a group of people is tasked with IDing the cause of a viral outbreak.
