It seems like every day this week will bring news of somebody or something getting nominated or winning an award.
Today brought us the nominations for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards, which The Help led with four nods, including one for Best Ensemble Cast, while The Descendants took Best Picture honors from the Houston Film Critics Society and The Tree of Life won the top award given by the Toronto Film Critics Association. Click here for a complete list of winners from each organization.

Yesterday, The Artist and Hugo dominated the field of nominees at the Broadcast Film Critics announcement, racking up 11 nods apiece. (The Boston Society of Film Critics also went with The Artist, while the Los Angeles Film Critics Association echoed Huston’s choice and picked The Descendants.)
Last week, the American Film Institute announced that its Top 10 list for 2011 includes Bridesmaids, The Descendants, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, J. Edgar, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, and War Horse.
Phew, huh.
Let’s check back tomorrow when the Golden Globe nominees have been announced, OK?
