A heart attack claimed the life Tim Russert, the host of NBC’s Meet the Press, suddenly and prematurely on Friday, June 13.
Russert, a beacon of journalist integrity and strength, was remembered on the Today show this morning by his son Luke, who said he and his mother are “hanging in there, [we] take it day by day.”
Russert was only 58. He will be missed, particularly as the presidential election heats up. His was a voice that beckoned attention, respect, and action.

Not going to miss him.
I've never been comfortable with this adoration we give newscasters.
It's the news, it isn't supposed to be given a human face (Katie Couric's face is not human anyway). Russert was lame; he let people get away with any answers they felt like giving, and rarely pressed the interviewees hard enough.
