Joel McHale Wants You to Rock It

While that funny and buff – who knew – Joel McHale would love it if more of y’all started watching TV’s Community, he also would just adored it if you voted this year.

The actor is so keen on Americans exercising their civic duty that he recently channeled the George Washington within to be part of a new Rock the Vote commercial directed by Adam Shankman.

He joined a number of celebs for this initiative, including Miley Cyrus, Kathy Griffin, Neil Patrick Harris, and Darren Criss, among others.

Let’s see ya get it done, America. For four more years!

Voice-y Changes

In other news regarding talent shows and their judges, changes are a-comin’ to NBC’s The Voice.

Evidently, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will be sitting out next spring’s outing of the show, and Shakira and Usher have been hired as its two new coaches.

BFF Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are staying put, but Aguilera and Green are expected to be back on next fall (so maybe Levine and Shelton will take time off then and go make it official do their own thing as well).

The powers that be said when making their announcement that the move is an opportunity to keep the show fresh and allow the talent to tend to their other project, which makes sense. Aguilera is about to drop a new record and shell need time to focus on that and promote it, while Green is working on some music, too, and on some TV projects for the Peacock.

So there ya have it.

Done Deal: The New Judges Are Comin’

It’s finally official: Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban will be judging American Idol next season.

The pair joins Mariah Carey and Enrique Iglesias Randy Jackson at the judges table.

The shows executive producer Simon Fuller said this new mix is going to help make Idol Season 12 the best ever.

If anything, Minaj is going to bring some kooky fashions to the show...but I’m still not watching.

Garden Woman

Natalie Portman’s prospects after an Oscar, a baby, and a marriage are picking up steam.

The actress, already expected to team up with new-Hollywood heavy Michael Fassbender for a sort of revenge western, is in talks to join a member of the...uhm...older guard for the feature adaptation of In the Garden of Beasts, the Erik Larson best-seller about William Dodd, the U.S. ambassador to Germany during the rise of the Nazi party.

Tom Hanks is attached to play Dodd. Portman would play his daughter Martha, who ends up in a relationship with the head of the Gestapo.

The Artist’s Michel Hazanavicius is thisclose to signing on to direct.

Boldly Exploring

Kevin Costner...sea man?

The multi-hyphenate is looking to produce and star in an adaptation of the upcoming illustrated novel series The Explorers Guild.

Evidently, the guy is so keen on the project that he is also working with the books’ powers that be on the actual books, the first volume of which, the WWI-set The Explorers Guild, Volume One: A Passage to Shambhala, is expected to be published some time in 2014.

That’s quite a while from now, so I can only guess Costner is gonna go the epic route.

Freaky Deaky

Carla Gugino is taking a break – I hope it’s just a break – from antagonizing Sigourney Weaver on USA Network’s smart Political Animals to get sexy with Schmidt.

Yeah, you know Schmidt...from TV’s New Girl.

The actress is gonna guest on the show’s sophomore season this fall as Max Greenfield’s character’s sweet-and-innocent-looking new boss who is in fact anything but a lady in bed.

She’s such a power trip when it comes to sex, in fact, that she makes the guy sign a contract binding him to her.

Meowza!

So Worried He’ll Crush Her, Y’all

Eva Longoria is dating Mark Sanchez.

Now, I’ve met the guy – he is a big dude (he shook my hand and I almost felt I should shake his back with both my hands). And I’ve also met the actress a few times. She’s a tiny little thing.

I am just so concerned he’s gonna like, I dunno, break her in half or som’in.

And I’m kinda jelly, too. Who wouldn’t want climb that brick house....

To the Max

My girl G.P. is on fiya.

Yeah, kids – first Gwyneth Paltrow gets named Best Dressed for the year by People magazine, and now Max Factor has tapped her as a the new “creative inspiration” for its make-up artists.

This, btw, on top of her recently scored gig as ambassador for Hugo Boss’ new perfume, Boss Nuit Pour Femme.

Anyway, the actress will star in a six-month campaign launching in November in which she’ll model the looks created by the Max Factor team to reflect the different nuances of her life, such as the one pictured here (I’m guessing this is her just-outta-bed-I’m-awesome look – I keed, I keed).

OK, that sounds kinda esoteric, but, hey, its more G.P. to love (and, for some, hate).

Lady GaGa Puts the Goo in Smelling Good

We saw the preview for Fame, her first fragrance, which, I will admit, intrigued me so, and now, we have us a full ad.

Well, more like a short film, actually.

Lady GaGa has done it again – in the good way. She’s released a strong visual.

Directed by Steven Klein, the spot features Mother Monster in all kinds of edginess, lots of pecstatsic male models adoring her, and a little bit of her song Scheiße.” None of it says anything about what Fame must smell like...unless its strongest note comes from the black goo that bathes quite a few frames.

County Husband

At last, Julia Roberts is marrying Ewan McGregor.

On the big screen, of course.

The Scottish actor is set to play the estranged husband of the Oscar winner’s character in the adaptation of August: Osage County.

McGregor joins a star-studded cast that also includes Meryl Streep, Chris Cooper, Margo Martindale, Juliette Lewis, and Benedict Cumberbatch, among others.

The Return of Best Dressed G.P.

Gwyneth Paltrow has style – that’s what all the boys and girls say.

For a good few years there, G.P.’s fashion sense wasn’t as celebrated as it was back in her It Girl days at the end of the ’90s. It was as if she had plateaud.

But La Paltrow is back and bettah than evah. She’s been GOOPing and getting Country Strong and standing up to cancer, all the while looking fab in classic designs that showcase her best, Tracy Anderson-sculpted assets and remind us what a stylish woman she was, is, and always will be.

People agrees, which is why the magazine has named the Oscar winner – pictured here at the Toronto Film Festival in a LBD – the Best Dressed Woman of 2012.

A solid, solid choice, IMHO. You just gotta look at Gwyn giving major retro-modern fashion in a white Tom Ford gown accented with a cape at this years Academy Awards to understand she was everything at the ceremony.

More. More Bond

The upcoming Skyfall musta rekindled Daniel Craigs love for all things James Bond (the actor is on record as saying the Quantum of Solace, the follow-up to Casino Royale, wasnt all it coulda been).

I say this because the actor reportedly has agreed to stick with the legendary 007 franchise for at least two more movies.

Yay.

Anything that keeps Craig suiting up and getting down to sartorial basics, especially when wet, is fine with me.

Bodacious Xtina

Yeah, Christina Aguilera has put on a little weight – let's call a spade a spade – and you know what...girlfriend is owning it and making the most of it.

The singer – who, granted, previously was a little on the twig side – is flaunting her new curves with just enough see-though fabulousness on the cover of her upcoming new single, the aptly titled “Your Body.

Aguilera herself revealed the sheerstastic art via her Twitter, saying she couldn't wait for us to hear the song, which she kinda sorta likens to her hit “Fighter.” So I will wager it's all empower-y and s---.

The wait will be over tomorrow when the single hits radio, y'all, so keep your ears peeled for it.

In His Arms – How Does It Feel, Jen?

We already knew that Justin Theroux had eight good assets for fiancé Jennifer Aniston to enjoy, which in turn serve as eight mighty fine reasons for us to believe – at last! – that the actress has moved on with her life.

So, uh, color me jelly now that I've been reminded (I mean, y'all saw Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, right?that the guy also has two strong arms Jen can snuggle up to whenever she wants.

Dayum, Justin – you make 41 look fierce!

Gucci Girl

Florence Welch is a fashion It Girl.

From gigs small to big, she always looks ethereally phenomenal. Now, while we haven't a clue what she wore to BFF Blake Lively's wedding to Ryan Reynolds, we know what she'll be wearing on tour this fall: Gucci.

That's 'cause the label's creative director Frida Giannini will once again dress the singer as Florence + the Machine hit travel across Europe and the United States with their “Ceremonials Tour,” which kicks off tomorrow and runs through December.

Check out the sketch at right for a little preview of what Welch will wear on stage as she sings hits like Shake It Out,” and Spectrum.

So stylish.

One Handsome Reason to Give a Damn About Hockey

Now, I don't know hockey from the next Jack or Jane on the street, but, dayum if Henrik Lundqvist doesn't make me wanna learn.

The goalie for the New York Rangers was just named one of the 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers of 2012 according to Us Weekly – and all I gotta say is why dress the peacock.

Also currently known as the World's Sexiest Ice Man, this Swede sure makes me give a.

Newly independent Katie Holmes is a fashion woman.

Scientology's purported public enemy numero uno made her New York Fashion Week debut with the presentation of the spring collection for Holmes & Yang at Lincoln Center earlier today. That's the label she leads with her stylist friend Jeanne Yang, btw.

It's Jochary!

Alright, alright, alright – we have us a new gay power couple.

Star Trek star Zachary Quinto has confirmed that he is dating Jonathan Groff, whom y'all will know from TV's Glee, telling Out magazine that he feels happy and lucky about his new love.

Quinto credits Groff, currently seen on Starz's Boss, with helping him open up to a healthy, fulfilling relationship.

“[I spent years] protecting myself because I equated the idea of connection and love with trauma and death,” the actor said, referring to how the passing of his father affected him. “I had to do a lot of work on the couch to really get to a place where I was able to show up to a relationship with someone who was actually capable of being in one – and that took a lot of trial and error.

Awww. Let's give it up for Jochary!
